The Life and Times of Doing Something Interesting

How fast things change.

Got a job. Involves the web and pays all right.

Did all right on the Ph.D front as well. A few modifications and it should be sorted.

That, however, is not what has been taking my time over the last few days.

It turns out that I am heading back to the old country, the land of hard people and crazy ideas, as the company I'll be working for is back home in Iceland.

That... is what has been filling my hours and taking up my time. As it happens packing everything you own and wrapping up your affairs to move to another country is a bit of work.

In between the boxes and other bits of sorting out there have been a few items on our fair internet that have caught my interest.

Richard Rutter is writing up The Elements of Typographic Style Applied to the Web.

The tagheads behind the terminally Web 2.0 vapourweb startup Fleck write about the effect of amateur porn on modern business.

I keep encountering Maslow's hierarchy of needs whenever I wander into the more interesting parts of the web. Might as well tell others about it.

That is all for now.
