Talking About Google...

Google's just opened Google Analytics up for public use. No longer do you need a clique-y invite to join. Now everybody can measure just exactly how unpopular they are.

It's like inventing an Olympic Games category for counting pimples or measuring the length of a turd (accounting for the wrinkles, of course).

The whole weblogs as stool metaphor could be extended, much, much, much further.

I can think of entire vistas—mountain-scapes—built out of the rich material that that metaphor could provide for hours, days, months even, of tedious self-referential "meta-" discussions on weblogs and the current state of the "blogosphere."

But, I'll spare you that. For that particular kind of turd I refer you to Scoble's Weblog (aka Scobleizer) or some similar piece of...
